• Aryna Sabalenka, defending champion and world No. 1, will face Amanda Anisimova in the US Open final.
• Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula in a re-run of last year’s final, aiming to become the first player to successfully defend the title in New York since 2014.
• Anisimova, the eighth-seeded player, reached her second Major final in a row after defeating Naomi Osaka.
• Anisimova broke for a 3-1 cushion in the decider, but Osaka held before Anisimova secured victory.
Yuki-Venus Pair Loss
• India’s Yuki Bhambri ended a semifinalist at the men’s doubles event with partner Michael Venus, marking his deepest run at a Grand Slam.
• The Indo-Kiwi pair went down 7-6(2), 6-7(5), 4-6 in a thrilling contest to the experienced British pair of Neal Skupski and Joe Salisbury.
• Bhambri became only the sixth Indian man in the Open era to reach a Grand Slam doubles semifinals.
