Nagaland University Develops Written Grammar for 18 Naga Languages
• Nagaland University is collaborating with the State’s Directorate of School Education to develop written grammar for all 18 recognized Naga languages.
• The initiative aims to provide structured pedagogical grammars for inclusion in school textbooks from Classes 5 to 12, aligning with the National Education Policy, 2020.
• The project will document grammar, enrich vocabulary, and clarify orthography, and will be incorporated into school textbooks alongside prose, poetry, and translation.
• Teacher training programs are planned to support the integration of grammar teaching in classrooms.
• The project is a cultural mission aimed at preserving, strengthening, and promoting the linguistic heritage of Naga people.
