• The Bill was passed after a brief discussion, despite a DMK and AIADMK debate over a reference to the State government’s handling of minor ports.
• Opposition boycotted the discussion on the Bill, demanding a discussion on the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
