Indian Retail Inflation Hits 8-Year Low
• The drop was attributed to a decrease in food prices.
• The Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed inflation has been easing for nine consecutive months.
• Food and beverages inflation was -0.8% in July, lower than the -0.2% in June and 5.1% in July 2024.
• Vegetable and pulses inflation contracted by 21% and 14% respectively.
• Core inflation eased to 4.1% in July 2025, nearly at the RBI’s target of 4%.
